IGMAS+ is provided at no cost according to the IGMAS+ license agreement issued by the Helmholtz-Centre Potsdam - German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ), which covers the following key points:
- Scope: The license governs the acquisition and use of the IGMAS+ software by registered users.
- Registration: Users must register on this website to download the software, and they can choose between personal single-user and group multi-user licenses.
- Term and Termination: The license is valid for one year and automatically terminates after that period, requiring users to reapply. Extraordinary termination is possible for significant reasons.
- License Grant: Depending on the chosen license type, users are granted either a personal or group license for internal research, educational, or commercial use. It’s non-sublicensable and non-exclusive.
- Intellectual Property: All intellectual property rights for the software belong to GFZ, and users must not modify, distribute, or reverse engineer it. Proper citation is required when using the software for publication.
- Maintenance: GFZ may provide new versions or updates of the software, but they are not obligated to do so.
- No Warranty: GFZ does not guarantee error-free functioning of the software and provides it “as is” without warranty.
- Limited Liability: GFZ’s liability is limited, except in cases of willful misconduct, gross negligence, or breach of essential contractual obligations.
- Data Privacy: User data is only used for processing the software purchase and complies with data privacy regulations.
- Governing Law: The agreement is governed by German law, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of Potsdam, Germany.
- Severability: If any part of the contract is invalid, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
