Graduated from Clausthal University of Technology (1980); Doctorate in Geophysics from Clausthal University of Technology (1985); Research Assistant at Universität Bonn (1985-1987, 1998-1999, 2000), Freie Universität Berlin (1987-1993, 1994-1997, 2002-2003), GeoForschungsZentrum Potsdam (1994), Ruhr-Universität Bochum (1999), since 2004 Research Assistant and Lecturer at Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel - retired in 2017. Visiting scientist at Stanford University, (California, USA), Cornell University (Ithaca, New York, USA), Geoscience Australia (Canberra, Australia). Participated in numerous excursions to South America (Chile, Argentina, Bolivia) aimed at gravity measurements, especially in the Central Andes.
